aem counselling

I’m Alison a warm, safe, and down-to-earth counsellor. I offer a kind, helpful, and non-judgemental space for people who feel stuck, lost, or overwhelmed. With decades of experience, I support clients through a wide range of emotional and life challenges.

As a Neurodivergent counsellor with ADHD, Dyspraxia, and Dyslexia, I understand first hand the impact of emotional regulation difficulties, executive-function challenges, and sensory overload. I also bring extensive experience supporting parents, both through my professional work and as a parent myself.

My life experiences shape the compassion and understanding I bring to my practice. I have personally navigated divorce, childhood trauma, disordered eating, and domestic abuse, and I know how important it is to have someone truly listen and walk alongside you.

Beyond my work, I’m a dog lover, an Irish dancer, and passionate about Pilates. I’m proud of my Irish heritage and actively volunteer within the Irish community from running groups to attending cultural events. Recently, I attended an event at the Irish Embassy and performed at Pride celebrations in both Ireland and England.

I offer a supportive space where you can be yourself, explore what’s going on for you, and move toward a life that feels more manageable and meaningful.

I offer a range of supportive services, with packages lovingly tailored to what you need. If you’re unsure what might suit you best, I’m always happy to talk things through pricing is available on request.

I provide ADHD training online or in person, and I enjoy working with schools, universities, and community organisations. I’m also a speaker on living and thriving with ADHD, sharing both the challenges and the strengths it can bring.

I run a variety of support groups, creating gentle, understanding spaces for connection — including groups for addiction, ADHD, and women’s wellbeing.
